Meter Reader Operative – Wakefield & Bristol

Location: WF or BS postcode areas
Pay: £12.60 per hour (Wakefield) / £24,570 + bonus + mileage (Bristol)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week (between 8am–8pm, flexible)
Contract: Temp to perm after 15 weeks

A growing smart energy business is looking for Meter Reader Operatives to support its field operations team. This role is ideal for anyone who enjoys driving, meeting new people, working independently, and being outdoors in all weather.

Key Responsibilities:

- Travel locally using your own vehicle (business insurance required)

- Visit homes and businesses to take gas/electric meter readings

- Record data using a company-provided mobile app

- Provide excellent customer service and follow lone-working safety protocols

What You’ll Need:

- Full UK driving licence (maximum 6 points)

- Access to your own vehicle

- Willingness to obtain basic business-use insurance

- Able to pass a DBS check (arranged during recruitment)
