Pertemps are exclusively recruiting for a Yard Operative to join a fast growing merchant based in Wallingford. This is a full time, temporary to permanent position working with a friendly team.
Responsibilities as a Yard Operative:
- Maintaining stock within the yard and warehouse
- Loading and unloading materials
- Picking orders for customers and writing order notes for the sales counter
- Complying with company health and safety standards
- Assisting with other duties in the yard
To be considered for the Yard Operative position you will have:
- Previous experience as a Yard Operative or similar role
- Knowledge of building materials, preferred but not essential
- Counterbalance forklift, preferably a valid license, but not essential
- Comfortable with manual handling
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Additional information
- Monday to Friday 07:00am – 17:00pm
- Alternating Saturdays 07:00am to 12:00pm
- Full training will be provided
- 23 days holiday plus bank holidays, increasing to 25 days after 2 years
- Free parking
- Salary is between £28,000 - £29,000 per annum, depending on experience
- Annual bonus paid on branch-based performance
