Pertemps are seeking a dedicated and responsible 7.5-ton Driver to join our client in Edinburgh West. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and pleasant environment for our residents and visitors by supporting cleansing services across the area.
Location: Edinburgh West
Hours of Work: 4 on 4 off shift pattern, 06.00-17.02 with 45min break
Rate of Pay: £12.81 per hour rising to £14.35 as of week 13
Temporary ongoing work
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate 7.5-ton vehicles as part of the street cleansing service.
- Adhere to designated routes and schedules to ensure timely completion of collections.
- Perform vehicle checks, report any faults or maintenance needs, and ensure the cleanliness of the vehicle.
- Assist the cleansing crew with loading, unloading, and managing waste when necessary.
- Engage courteously with the public when required, representing the department in a professional manner.
- Follow all safety guidelines and operational procedures to maintain high standards of service.
What We're Looking For:
- Valid UK driving license with C1 category (7.5-ton vehicle) along with valid CPC qualification card and Tacho card.
- Previous experience in driving large vehicles
- A good understanding of health and safety practices relevant to vehicle operation.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
- Physical fitness - the role requires manual handling and assisting with lifting and moving heavy objects
